Not sure how a virtual dermatology visit works or what to expect from your first appointment? You’re not alone. We’ve put together answers to our most common patient questions so you can get the information you need quickly—whether you’re curious about pricing, services, or our booking process.

A: DermaNP Solutions is a virtual dermatology practice led by Obehi Oriaifo, DNP, FNP-BC, DCNP — a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with advanced training and national certification in dermatology. We provide convenient, evidence-based, and personalized skin care for all skin types, with a focus on improving access for underserved communities.

DermaNP Solutions is an independent private practice and is not affiliated with or endorsed by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs.


A: No referral is needed. You can book directly through our secure online platform.

A: At this time, we are 100% virtual. If an in-person procedure or biopsy is needed, we'll help coordinate care with a local provider.

A: We treat acne, eczema, hyperpigmentation, hair loss (including traction and CCCA), psoriasis, keloids, melasma, and many more. We also provide skin cancer screenings, medication management, and tailored skin care guidance.

A: Visits are conducted securely through our HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Before your appointment, you’ll be able to upload photos of your skin concern for review. During your visit, you’ll meet one-on-one with Obehi Oriaifo, your board-certified Dermatology Nurse Practitioner, to discuss your concerns, review treatment options, and create a personalized care plan.

A: Most visits last 20-30 minutes. Options for advanced service an hour or longer, please keep in mind this includes documentation time. Follow-ups may be shorter.

A: We currently serve Iowa, Florida, Maryland and Alaska*. More states are coming soon!

A: We are currently out-of-network and operate as a self-pay practice. HSA/FSA card taken. Superbills are available upon request for insurance reimbursement**.

If lab testing is recommended, samples are processed through a partner laboratory. Because DermaNP Solutions uses a client billing arrangement, the lab bills our clinic directly, and the cost is added to your invoice.

Lab pricing may vary depending on the test — please inquire during your visit for details and estimated costs. We partner only with accredited laboratories to ensure accurate and reliable results. For more information, see our Lab Billing Disclaimer.

A: Pricing is transparent and listed on our website. Initial visits start at $100, while advanced dermatology visits are $150. Follow-up visits are $75, and prescription refills are $50.

A: Yes! We offer flexible options and treatment bundles for chronic skin conditions. Ask us during your visit.

A: Yes. We can prescribe topical and oral medications, lab work, and refills as appropriate, including compounded options.

A: Absolutely. We curate skin care plans based on your skin type, goals, and budget.

A: Obehi Oriaifo, DNP, FNP-BC, DCNP, is a board-certified Nurse Practitioner with over 10 years of healthcare experience. She holds a Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) degree and national certification in dermatology through the Dermatology Nurse Practitioner Certification Board (DNPCB). Obehi is passionate about providing accessible, culturally competent, and evidence-based dermatology care for all skin types.

A: Yes. Our practice is committed to skin equity and deeply understands how skin conditions uniquely show up in deeper skin tones.

A: Ensure good lighting, upload photos ahead of time, and have a list of current medications or products. Full details are in your appointment confirmation email-consent and disclosure forms.

A. DermaNP Solutions is a direct-pay practice and does not bill insurance, including Medicaid.

  For covered medical services, care is typically provided through a Medicaid-participating provider.
